Each of our Premium Sachets is handmade, just for you.

Premium Heart Shaped Sachets are made from satin fabrics when available, appliquéd vintage lace and beading. Choose organic lavender fill, or available blends (see Herbal Blends link at left) or a polyblend fill.

Simple Sachets are perfect in the dryer or slipped under a pillow for restful sleep. Current stock is 100% organic lavender fill with vintage fabric.

Any variety of fabric may be used to create an Premium or Simple Sachet...and you may send in your own for the project if you wish. All submitted fabrics should be cleaned prior to sending them to us.

Lavender Pillow & Sachet Filling

Lavender, Lavendula officinalis is an herb that's very special to us here at Lavender Way... according to Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Herbs (© 1987 by Rodale Press, Inc.) "The power of smell invokes some of our strongest and fondest memories." According to herbalist Dorothy Hall, Lavender is perfect for those who have trouble sleeping because their mind is too active. Peter Holmes, L.Ac., M.H indicates that it's relaxing and helps calm the mind. Mothers throughout history have used it as a component of nightly baths in hopes of generating a night of peaceful slumber for both baby AND mother. What better herb, then, to use to fill our Dream Pillows?

Traditional Herb Gathering Rules

Interesting Adages from Days Gone By... These rules that have been handed down through the centuries and practiced mostly by the Druids of  old and is the ritual expected if the herb is to retain full power.

Pluck herbs with your left hand, never your right. Never face into the wind. Never look behind you. Never touch an herb with cold iron. Never let a blade touch the roots. Always talk to the herb as you cut it so it knows what your intentions are. Never let the herb touch the ground. Wear white linen and no shoes or no clothes. More power can be added to the herb is you fast and abstain from sex a day or two prior to plucking the herb. Herbs are best plucked at night usual at sunset, midnight or sunrise.
