The word "quilt" comes from the Latin culcita meaning a stuffed sack, but it came into the English language from the French word cuilte. While there is no definitive date as to the origin of sewing techniques of piecing and quilting, the earliest known quilted garment is depicted on the carved ivory figure of a Pharaoh of the Egyptian First Dynasty, approximately created in 3400 BC.
Material & Construction Details:
Our Quilted Pillows are built using the typical quilt technique of three layers, two fabric and one batting. The 16" x 16" pillow pictured was created by printing vintage on fabric, applying water color to paint the lake on printed fabric, then using recycled denim for the borders.
