Mini Quilts

The word "quilt" comes from the Latin culcita meaning a stuffed sack, but it came into the English language from the French word cuilte. While there is no definitive date as to the origin of sewing techniques of piecing and quilting, the earliest known quilted garment is depicted on the carved ivory figure of a Pharaoh of the Egyptian First Dynasty, approximately created in 3400 BC.

Material & Construction Details:

Our Mini Quilts were built using the typical quilt technique of three layers, two fabric and one batting.  The image was created by using some torn and cut pieces of fabric cut then arranged to create a Manger scene. Layers of fabrics were used, netting, tulle, burlap, ribbons, metallic threads and more to create this Manger image. The mini quilt has sewn in tabs and comes with a small dowel rod for hanging, if desired a 5x7 piece of cardstock to mount the mini quit can be included to be used as a very special Greeting card.
